Trailers & Service Yards

February 19th, 2015 No Comments

As the weather warms and homeowners begin to think about landscaping and summer recreation, we would like to remind residents that trailers, campers and tow-behind campers are not permitted in the community. Business trailers, and specifically landscaping trailers, cannot be stored on community roadways or in front of houses. If you own a business and you have a trailer or other equipment associated with your business, you cannot store this equipment in the neighborhood.

The Lake Linganore Association does not provide trailer storage/equipment storage of any kind. The Environmental Control Committee (ECC) does provide guidelines for “Service Yards” and some homeowners have built service yards on their property to appropriately store trailers, campers and other outdoor items. All service yards must be approved by the ECC, and there are guidelines for how items can be properly hidden.

The key is to keep your trailer ‘out of sight’—this could mean in a garage or a service yard. Personal trailers used for hauling boats and boat trailers must be registered with the LLA and display a permit. Boat Trailer Permits can be easily purchased online using your Membership Account (

If you have extenuating circumstances that require you to TEMPORARILY store a trailer, camper or tow-behind camper at your residence, please contact your Village Manager immediately to communicate your situation. *Additionally if you are performing heavy spring cleaning, moving materials, hauling items, beginning renovations or conducting any activity requiring long term parking (more than 3 days) of large equipment we ask that you inform the HOA.
