New Barcode Permits: Proper Placement is Key

Exact Match Matters!

It is extremely important that you place each Barcode Permit on its assigned item. Each Photo ID Card, Automobile, Boat, etc… has been assigned a specific barcode number. Think of them as a license plate issued by the MVA – you cannot place a license plate on just any vehicle. You must place it on the specific one it is assigned to. The same is true for your Barcode Permits, they are each unique and assigned to specific items registered on your membership account.

When Barcode Permits are scanned by security, the vehicle’s description, including the Plate Number appears on the scanner screen. If the Plate Number is not an exact match, then the parking permit is not valid and the car may be ticketed and/or towed.

Be sure you have entered your vehicle information correctly in your online membership account – and that you have placed the correct pre-assigned Barcode Permit in the rear window appropriately.

Note: For Automobiles like convertibles that do not have a rear window or if the rear window is not a viable option, the alternate location for an automobile permit is the front windshield on the passenger side. The top or bottom of the window is acceptable as long as the permit is visible at all times.
