Important 2014 Dates: Trash & Waste

Yard Waste will begin Wednesday, April 2, 2014.

*Please note that your yard waste must be curbside before 7 am. Grass, clippings and leaves must be bagged in paper/recyclable lawn bags or placed in personal containers no larger than 30 gallons in size labeled ‘yard waste.’ Sticks and limbs must be bundled, and bundles may not be larger than 3 x 3 feet in size. Sod and/or dirt is not accepted.

Bulk Trash is on Saturday, September 20, 2014

Bulk trash pickup is Saturday, September 20th. Items must be placed curbside no earlier than 6pm on Friday September 19th for pick up beginning at 7am on Saturday.

*Bulk material for this service do not include appliances, construction debris larger than 3’x3′, hazardous materials, medical waste, chemical waste, paint, auto parts or any other item restricted by the Frederick County Landfill.

Regular Trash & Recycling

The LLA Trash Removal Contract is a negotiated contract overseen by the LLA staff. The contract includes weekly pick-up of regular household trash and weekly pick-up of yard waste (seasonal April-November). Both are curbside pick-up. The contract also includes two bulk pick-up days, once in January for Christmas Trees only and the other in the Fall for bulk trash items that are not considered regular household waste. *For a list of what is considered bulk trash items vs. regular household trash, please contact your Village Manager* The Trash contract is typically a two year contract.

  • Household Trash Pick-up: every Tuesday
  • Yard Waste Pick-up: every Wednesday (April-November)
  • Recycling Collection: every other Wednesday (*This is a Fred.Co. Service)
