Summerfield Village InformationCommittee Members: No active committee at this time. Next Summerfield Village Meeting Date: TBD A Summerfield Village Committee election meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13 at the LLA office. The first order of business at this meeting is the election of the slate of candidates for the village committee, which is as follows: Mariane Moormann, chairperson By conducting this election/village meeting, Summerfield will have a strong voice in association issues. Residents who cannot attend the January 13 meeting, were mailed a proxy, similar to that used in LLA board elections, to vote for the slate of candidates. There are just enough candidates to create a village committee but not for a competitive election so voting in this matter is essentially to ratify the slate of candidates willing to serve at this time. It is hoped residents will participate, send in the proxy vote if they cannot attend or attend the January 13 meeting to ratify the committee members. In village elections, both heads of household can vote and the proxy is set up so that both people can use the same proxy to cast their individual votes. If you attend the meeting, you can vote by ballot. If a proxy has already been received by the LLA, you cannot vote again at the election meeting. Residents are being asked to ratify the slate of candidates with a supporting vote. Please return the proxy no later than 4:30 p.m. on January 11, 2010. The village committee is an important tool for residents. Responding to the vote and attending the meeting would be a significant action on the residents' part and would demonstrate that Summerfield is involved and ready to participate in the association’s governing process. Receipt of your proxy is anxiously anticipated and the hope is to see you at the meeting on Wednesday, January 13. Lots to discuss so drop in to provide your perspective.
