TVC Fishing Derby: Details You Need!

Teen Volunteer Club Hosts Fishing Derby!

Saturday, August 16th
Time: 7 AM to 11 AM
Join the Teen Volunteer Club as they host their second gathering for the community. Bring a canned item to donate to the local food bank as an “entry fee”. Three age groups*:

  • Kindergarten through 6th grade
  • 7th grade through 12th grade
  • Adults

*Drivers’ License or School ID suffices as proof. Only LLA members are valid to receive prizes.

Event Guidelines

All current state laws, rules, and regulations apply, regardless of what is or is not stated in these Derby rules. Up to date (not expired) fishing license is required. See the Maryland Department of Natural Resources(DNR) website for more on Fishing Regulations.

  • Fishers may use one fishing rod at a time. Fishers can only turn in the fish they catch.
  • Registration ticket/wrist bands will be available the day of the event at event location.
  • Registration wrist band must be visible in picture when measuring fish.
  • Winning fish will be ranked by length. Member must take a picture with a clear view of the length and Derby wrist band in picture and submit/show to Derby coordinators on Coldstream Beach (please do not bring fish to submit (especially Bass which are catch and release)). The tiebreaker will be earliest time submitted.
  • When fish are measured, they are to be free of ice, dirt, debris, etc. Any visible tackle or visible bait must be removed prior to measuring.

Awarding Prizes

Prizes will be drawn at 11AM on August 16th. Registration ticket must be presented to claim any prize.

If prize winners fail to claim their prize, or cannot be contacted, within two weeks after the close of the derby, the prize will be forfeit to the fishing derby. The Teen Volunteer Club has final approval of registered fish and reserve the right to inspect or exclude any fish.

Participation

By entering this derby, you give permission to use of any photographs taken at the derby for advertising purposes.

To help ensure the safety of all participants, Lake Linganore Association and the Teen Volunteer Club reserves the right to close or cancel the derby event at any time for any reason.

All fishing is done at your own risk. The Association/Teen Volunteer Club are not liable for any injury or loss of property or theft. By entering the event, you accept responsible for your own safety and the knowledge of your surroundings. Responsibly store and secure your personal belongings.
