Proper Parking

February 2nd, 2015 No Comments

Parking can be a challenge in Lake Linganore and it is important for community members to follow the rules and best practices for parking their vehicles. First and foremost we ask that residents utilize their driveway at all times. Please use your driveway as a primary parking area, not the street. With so many narrow roads, parking in your driveway will help reduce sight line issues as well as vehicles driving off the roads causing ruts and damage to swales.

Please do not park in Fire Lanes. Fire Lanes are put in place to help ensure quick access for our first responders in case of an emergency. A Fire Lane can be indicated in several ways. Fire lanes may present signage that states “No Parking” or “Fire Lane.” Fire Lanes may also be indicated by a yellow painted curb.

Areas designated as fire lanes should not be used for personal parking conveniences and are reserved for emergency vehicles only. Please do not park in areas designated as fire lanes–not even for a minute as it only takes a minute for an emergency to occur.

No overnight parking is permitted at amenity areas, unless under ‘abnormal circumstances’. Overnight Parking is allowed in amenity parking areas when deemed appropriate by the Winter Weather Plan. During a snow emergency, amenity areas can be utilized to keep roadways clear of abandoned vehicles. Parking is not permitted on Snow Emergency Routes. Parking on a Snow Emergency Route may result in your vehicle being towed.
