Introduction

The Lake Linganore Association (LLA) Finance Committee is a group of resident volunteers with a professional background in finance. The committee reviews and works with the board of directors to prepare the annual budget, recommends financial policy, works with the auditors, reviews monthly financial statements and makes monthly reports to the LLA directors on the financial status of the association.

Be a Finance Committee Volunteer

Volunteers for the LLA Finance Committee are always welcome. Interested persons must have professional experience in finance, financial planning, accounting or bookkeeping. For information about volunteering, contact the LLA at jgurley@lakelinganore.org.

Meeting Dates

The LLA Finance Committee meets monthly on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7 pm in the LLA office. Meeting date and time are subject to change to accommodate committee members schedules.

The committee’s regular report to the board of directors occurs on the first Monday of the month at the regularly scheduled board meeting, which begins at 7 pm at the association’s Coldstream Drive office.

Annual Assessments

Annual assessments are required to be paid by March 31 of each year unless the member requests to be placed on a monthly debit withdrawal plan. Arrangements for payment plans must be made through LLA finance administrator Gary Jenkins. Annual assessment invoices are mailed in February of each year. Assessments must be paid in full or placed under on a monthly payment plan in order for the LLA member to receive membership cards, vehicle tags, etc. The assessment invoice mailing includes a member data sheet that asks for all the information necessary to provide all members their membership cards, vehicle tags, etc. It is the responsibility of the member to ensure that all information is updated.

Accounts Past Due

Have you received a notice in the mail stating that your account is past due? Send payment for the past due amount immediately to the LLA office to avoid collection proceedings with an attorney.

If your account becomes seriously delinquent, the LLA can file a lien against your property in order to collect the debt. All accounts in which a lien has been filed are published in a monthly listing in Lake Talk, the community newspaper.
